Noryoku ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Noryoku mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address
- Authentication credentials (managed securely via our authentication provider)
Usage Data
We collect data about how you use the App, including:
- Study progress and performance (vocabulary, kanji, grammar scores)
- Spaced repetition review history and scheduling data
- Selected JLPT level and study preferences
- AI chat conversation history for the purpose of providing the chat feature
Purchase Information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, purchase transactions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not directly collect or store your payment card details. We receive subscription status information from our payment processor (RevenueCat) to manage your access.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the App and its features
- Personalize your learning experience and track your progress
- Power the spaced repetition system to optimize your study schedule
- Provide AI-powered conversation practice
- Manage your subscription and access to premium content
- Communicate with you about your account or the App
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud-hosted database platform with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase — Authentication and data storage
- RevenueCat — Subscription and purchase management
- Apple App Store / Google Play Store — App distribution and payment processing
Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing their use of data.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the App. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy in the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
